Questions, answered straight.

The things people actually ask before hiring us — cost, timelines, ownership, and what happens after launch. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly and we’ll answer just as plainly.

01Getting started

Before we begin

How much does a website cost?

Every project is quoted individually. A five-page brochure site and a booking platform with automated intake are not the same job, and pricing them as though they were would be dishonest. Send us a couple of lines about what you need and we’ll come back with scope, timeline, and a fixed price. The quote itself is free, there is no discovery invoice, and quotes hold for 30 days.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope and — candidly — on how quickly content and approvals come back from your side, which is usually the longest pole in the tent. You get a realistic date with your quote rather than an optimistic one, and if something slips you hear about it when it slips, not at the deadline.

What do you need from me to get started?

Less than most people expect. To quote: a rough idea of what the site needs to do and who it’s for. To build: your copy, your logo and brand assets if you have them, and access to your domain. If you don’t have finished copy or brand assets, say so early — it changes the plan, and it is not a problem.

Do you work with businesses outside British Columbia?

Yes. We’re based in BC and work in Pacific Time, but the work is remote and the timezone rarely matters in practice. Most of a project runs on shared documents and scheduled calls.

02The build

While we’re building

What if I don’t like the first design?

You tell us, and we change it. Revision rounds are agreed up front and written into the quote, so nobody is surprised by what’s included. If a direction isn’t working we would much rather find out at the first draft than the week before launch.

Who writes the content?

Usually you, because you know your business better than we ever will. We tell you exactly what we need and roughly how long each piece should be, so you’re never staring at a blank page. If you’d rather not write it at all, raise it during scoping and we’ll price it in.

Will my site work properly on phones?

Yes, and it isn’t an upsell. Every site we build is designed for small screens from the start and tested at real viewport sizes before it ships. More than half your visitors will arrive on a phone; a site that only looks right on a laptop is a broken site.

Do I own the website when it’s finished?

Yes. On final payment you own the deliverables we made specifically for you — the design, the pages, the copy, the configuration. We keep our own pre-existing tools and libraries, and you get a permanent licence to use those as part of your delivered site.

03After launch

Once you’re live

What happens if something breaks?

If it’s a defect in our work — meaning it doesn’t do what we agreed it would do — we fix it free for 30 days after delivery. Beyond that window, and for new features or changed requirements, we quote the work first. If you’re on a hosting plan with us, monitoring is included.

Do I have to host with you?

No. We can hand the finished site over and you can host it wherever you like. Hosting with us means updates, monitoring, and backups are handled so you never think about them — but it’s an option, not a condition of the build.

Can I update the site myself afterwards?

That depends on what you want to change, and we agree it during scoping. Text and images can be made editable without anyone touching code. Structural changes are usually cheaper and safer coming back to us. Tell us up front how hands-on you want to be — it genuinely changes how we build the thing.

Will my site show up on Google?

We build the technical groundwork properly: fast pages, clean markup, correct metadata, a sitemap, and nothing accidentally blocking search engines. That part is in our control. Where you actually rank also depends on your content, your competitors, and time — anyone promising you the top spot is guessing.

04Working together

Money and logistics

How do payments work?

50% to start and the balance on delivery, unless your statement of work says otherwise. Invoices are due within 14 days. Hosting and retainer fees are billed in advance for the agreed period. Prices exclude applicable taxes.

What if I need to cancel partway through?

Either of us can end a project with 14 days’ written notice. You pay for work completed and costs already committed up to that point, and we hand over what has been done. There is no penalty clause.

Do you do automation as well as websites?

Yes — it’s the other half of what we do. Automated triage, responses, and lead qualification that run around the clock and escalate to a human the moment a conversation genuinely needs one. It works best designed alongside the site rather than bolted on afterwards.

Will you put my project in your portfolio?

We’d like to, and we’ll ask. Tell us not to and we won’t — before or after launch. We never publish a testimonial you didn’t give us, or figures you asked us to keep private.

05Still stuck

Ask us the awkward one.

If your question isn’t above, it’s probably a good one. Send it over — you’ll get a real answer from a person, within one business day, with no obligation attached.
